Mike Richardson

Mike Richardson is a Research Associate in the Department of Psychology at the University of Bath, affiliated with the CREATE Lab. He contributes to 'MyWorld', a collaborative project advancing creative technology in the West of England. His work focuses on measuring audience experiences across VR, film, theatre, and performance arts while exploring sensory substitution technologies to enhance accessibility for visually impaired individuals. Richardson holds a PhD from the University of Bath (2022), an MSc in Cognitive Neuroscience from the University of Sussex (2017), and a BSc in Sport and Exercise Science from the University of Portsmouth (2016).

Research interests include sensation/perception studies, mindfulness, and optimal mental states like flow. His recent work combines physiological metrics with creative media to analyze engagement patterns. Collaborations span interdisciplinary teams in psychology, neuroscience, and digital media.
