Mike Mansfield is an Associate Teaching Professor in the Department of History at Colorado State University (CSU), part of the College of Liberal Arts. His research focuses on African American history, military history, and social protest movements, particularly the 1960s protest era and the role of sports in African American communities. He currently leads the summer program 'World War II in Europe: The Normandy Campaign,' which includes a field study tour of Normandy's D-Day sites and cultural visits to London and Paris.
Dr. Mansfield holds a Ph.D. from the University of Alabama and has prior teaching experience at the University of Alabama and Miles College. His courses cover topics such as Pacific Wars in WWII, African American history, civil rights movements, and the intersection of sports and social activism.
Office hours are held Monday and Wednesday from 12:00–14:00 in Clark C355. The History Department is temporarily relocated to a trailer at 1100 Meridian Ave. Building B during the Clark Hall Revitalization project.
