Mike Davis

Dr. Mike Davis is a Senior Lecturer in History at Griffith University's School of Humanities, Languages and Social Science, specializing in revolutionary movements and political trials. A Fellow of the Royal Historical Society, he directs major research projects including the ARC-funded 'Conviction Politics' examining convict influences on Australian democracy.

His research spans crowd psychology, legal history, and revolutionary movements across Britain, France, and the North Atlantic. Current work investigates convict contributions to democratic development in colonial Australia. He serves as program director for the Bachelor of Arts and supervises doctoral research on immigrant experiences and war memory.

Publications include analyses of political trials, radical movements, and crowd behavior from the Middle Ages to modernity. His work provides comparative insights into democratic development across different historical contexts.
