Dr. Miguel Juárez is a Lecturer for Humanities at the University of Texas at El Paso's College of Liberal Arts, with additional teaching appointments in Women's and Gender Studies and History. He holds a PhD from UTEP, MLS from SUNY Buffalo, and has completed graduate coursework in Arts Administration and Museum Studies.
His scholarly work includes co-editing 'Where Are All the Librarians of Color: The Experiences of People of Color in Academia' and authoring 'Colors on Desert Walls: The Murals of El Paso'. Juárez serves on editorial boards including the Social Responsibilities Round Table newsletter of the American Library Association and previously Latinx Talk.
His publications span American Studies International, Chiricú Journal, Journal of Southern History, and El Paso Times, examining topics of diversity, cultural heritage, and public history. He teaches HUMN 4390: Disability Represented in the Humanities.
