Michelle Sanchez

Dr. Michelle Sanchez is a faculty member in the Physics and Engineering Physics Department at Tulane University, serving as the Director of the Tulane Center for K-12 STEM Education since 2013. Appointed Associate Dean for Community Engagement and Academic Partnerships in 2025, she oversees initiatives such as

Dr. Sanchez’s research interests focus on STEM education accessibility, community engagement, and engineering program accreditation. She has expanded the Center’s impact to reach over 1,000 students and 200 teachers annually, with a emphasis on equity for underrepresented populations, including providing $270,000 in scholarships and free transportation for participants.
