Michelle Robertson is a Professor of Sociology and Chair of the Department of Social Work and Sociology at St. Edward's University. She holds a PhD in Sociology from Washington State University-Pullman (2006) and has been a faculty member at St. Edward's since 2009. Her research focuses on classroom incivility, diversity and inequality in organized sports, and gender studies. She co-authored the widely used textbook Sociology: Exploring the Architecture of Everyday Life and serves on the editorial board of Contexts. Robertson is also a co-founder of the Faculty Committee on Diversity and Inclusion.

Active in professional organizations, she holds roles in the American Sociological Association, Pacific Sociological Association, and Sociologists for Women in Society. Her conference participation includes the Pacific Sociological Association Annual Meetings and American Sociological Association Annual Meetings.
