Michele Morgan is a Senior Lecturer (Teaching) and Deputy Course Leader for Physical Education and Sports Coaching Science at the University of Worcester’s School of Sport and Exercise Science. She holds a full-time faculty role since 2011 while concurrently pursuing a part-time PhD in coach identity formation. Her research focuses on key career events impacting coaches’ professional identities, using qualitative methods like semi-structured interviews.
Education includes a BSc in Sport Studies (2007), MSc in Sports Coaching (2011), and Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching (2014). She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and holds multiple coaching certifications (Level 3 Netball, Level 2 Football).
Teaching focuses on inclusive coaching, group dynamics, and interpersonal skills for sports coaching students. She leads modules like Principles of Inclusive Coaching and Coaching Pedagogy. Her research interests span technology integration in coaching, women in sport, and ethical attitudes in youth sport.
Award-winning educator, she has received the 2019 University Teaching Award and multiple student-choice nominations. Active in netball governance, she coaches internationally (e.g., FISU World Games 2016) and leads initiatives like England Netball Tutor programs. She also serves as a Safeguarding Children trainer and Women in Sport and Exercise (WISE) Lead.
