Michelle McCann

Michelle McCann is Research Fellow at the University of Bedfordshire's Tilda Goldberg Centre within the Institute of Applied Social Research. Her decade of social work practice informs current research on substance misuse in older populations.

Leads NIHR-funded studies on alcohol management in care homes and co-production approaches in substance misuse research. Current project examines good practice guidelines for alcohol use in elder care facilities through stakeholder collaboration.

Publications focus on innovative social care models including motivational interviewing in child protection and non-abstinence approaches for refractory alcoholism in older adults.
