Michelle Johnston

Michelle Johnston serves as Associate Professor and Chair of Graduate and Advanced Practice Education at Oklahoma City University's Kramer School of Nursing, where she has been full-time faculty since January 2018. As lead faculty for the BSN-DNP family nurse practitioner track, she leverages over 25 years of clinical experience including 15+ years as a family nurse practitioner, with special focus on pediatric and adolescent care.

Dr. Johnston's research centers on screening for adverse childhood experiences in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus, bridging trauma-informed care with chronic disease management. Her scholarly work intersects pediatric, women's, and adult primary care with strong emphasis on health promotion across the lifespan.
