Dr. Michelle Hsiang is an Associate Professor in the Department of Epidemiology & Biostatistics at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), with a secondary appointment in Pediatrics. She serves as Director of Research for the Malaria Elimination Initiative and Director of the Center for Global Infectious and Parasitic Diseases at the Institute for Global Health Sciences. Her work focuses on malaria epidemiology in low-endemic settings, particularly evaluating interventions like mass drug administration and novel diagnostic tools. She has conducted research in sub-Saharan Africa, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America, with active studies in Peru and Tanzania.
Education: Stanford University (B.A., Human Biology), Baylor College of Medicine (M.D.), UCSF (Pediatrics residency and Pediatric Infectious Diseases fellowship), and London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (MSc in Epidemiology).
