Michael Wilson, MPH, is an adjunct professor in the Department of Health Behavior at the University of North Carolina Gillings School of Global Public Health. He serves as the South Africa country director and co-founder of Advance Access & Delivery (AA&D), a global health nonprofit focused on improving healthcare access for vulnerable communities. Based in Durban, South Africa, Wilson leads a team of over 30 staff and directs the Bellhaven Harm Reduction Center, South Africa’s first low-threshold harm reduction center. Since 2018, he has acted as a consultant to the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), supporting national tuberculosis and HIV programs.
