Michael Wheeler is an Assistant Professor at the Dan School of Drama and Music within Queen's University's Faculty of Arts and Science. He also serves as Director of Artistic Research at SpiderWebShow Performance, Canada's first live digital performance company. Previously, he held roles as Executive Director of Generator (a Toronto-based artist incubator), curator for The Freefall Festival and HATCH emerging artist projects, and Intern Director at The Shaw Festival.
His educational background includes a BA (Distinction) from McGill University and an MFA from The American Repertory Theatre/Moscow Art Theatre Institute at Harvard University.
Wheeler's professional work spans directing credits such as *Behaviour*, *Objections to Sex and Violence*, *Rifles*, and *You Should Have Stayed Home*, alongside co-curating FOLDA (Festival of Live Digital Art) at The Isabel Bader Centre. His research and creative practice focuses on blending digital innovation with live performance, interactive theatre formats, and arts leadership strategies.
