Michael Suarez is University Professor and Professor of English at the University of Virginia, where he also serves as Director of the Rare Book School and Honorary Curator of UVA Special Collections. His work bridges literary scholarship, bibliography, and digital humanities, with a focus on eighteenth-century English literature and the history of the book.
His education includes a D.Phil. and M.St. in English Literature from Oxford University, a Th.M. and M.Div. from Weston Jesuit School of Theology, and a B.A./M.A. in English from Oxford, as well as a B.A. in biology, English, and sociology from Bucknell University.

His research centers on bibliography, textual studies, and the material history of texts, especially in the eighteenth century. His scholarship explores the intersections of religion, satire, print culture, and authorship.
