Michael Scott Silver is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Architecture at the University of Arizona’s College of Architecture, Planning and Landscape Architecture (CAPLA). His research explores the intersection of artificial intelligence, co-robotic technologies, sustainable design, and labor cultures in the built environment.
Recent projects include developing a brick-sorting and transport robot and pursuing experimental work in

In collaboration with CAPLA’s Materials Labs, he contributes to shaping their educational vision and infrastructure. His interdisciplinary design laboratory, Critical Systems, Inc., focuses on innovative research across digital fabrication, mobile construction apps, and numerically controlled fiber-placement technology.
