Michael Ross is the Manager of the Algal Culture Collection at the Scottish Association for Marine Science (SAMS), part of the University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI). He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Edinburgh and SAMS, with research focused on optimizing algal cultivation practices for biomass applications in aquaculture feed, bioenergy, bioremediation, and high-value compounds. His current work includes the ABACUS project, developing microalgal strains for biorefinery approaches.
