Michael Rich is Professor and Department Chair in Political Science at Emory University. He holds a Ph.D. from Northwestern University (1985), an M.A. from the University of Virginia, and a B.A. from Westminster College. His academic appointments include positions at Brown University, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and the Brookings Institution.
Research interests focus on public policy analysis, federalism, urban governance, and poverty reduction strategies. Current projects include collaborative governance models for neighborhood revitalization, impacts of public housing innovations, and Affordable Care Act implementation in Georgia.
Courses taught include Community Building and Social Change, Public Policy, Policy Analysis, and Poverty in America. Recent publications examine urban revitalization, community development grants, and healthcare policy implementation.
