Protip Biswas is a Part-Time Lecturer at the School of City & Regional Planning, Georgia Institute of Technology. He concurrently serves as Vice President, Homelessness at the United Way of Greater Atlanta, leading the Regional Commission on Homelessness (RCOH) to implement strategies reducing homelessness by 60% (unsheltered) and 70% (veteran homelessness) since 2011. His work focuses on supportive housing, job creation, and community revitalization.
Education includes a graduate degree in Architecture from the University of Cincinnati, a construction management degree from SPA, Delhi, India, and doctoral coursework in Urban Planning at UNC Chapel Hill. He also teaches in NeighborWorks’ affordable housing program.
Research interests emphasize affordable housing, social capital, and place-based strategies addressing suburban poverty and mobility challenges. His decade of experience spans Ohio, Virginia, North Carolina, and Georgia-based housing organizations.
