Dr. Michael Nagy is an Associate Professor of Medieval English Literature at South Dakota State University, affiliated with the School of English and Interdisciplinary Studies. He holds a B.A. and M.A. in English from Kent State University and a Ph.D. in Medieval Literature from Saint Louis University. His teaching focuses on Old English, Middle English, Old Norse languages and literatures, and their influence on modern fantasy fiction.
Research interests include the philological and cultural foundations of Old English and Old Norse Sapiential literature, and the social/political roles of trolls in medieval Scandinavian texts. He is based at the Pugsley Cont Ed Center (Room 412) in Brookings, SD.
