Michael Killey

Dr. Michael Killey is an Assistant Professor in the Schmidthorst College of Business at Bowling Green State University (BGSU). He holds a PhD in Accounting from Florida Atlantic University, a Master of Taxation (MTax) from the University of Akron, and a B.S. and Master of Accounting (Macc) from BGSU. His research focuses on auditing, taxation, financial statement analysis, and forensic accounting, supported by grants from professional organizations. Dr. Killey has extensive professional experience in government, corporations, and public accounting firms, specializing in forensic analysis, taxation, and financial reporting.

He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in taxation, forensic examination, auditing, and managerial accounting, both online and in-person. Dr. Killey has received notable awards, including the FAU Outstanding Faculty Award and UM-Dearborn COB Teacher of the Year Award, reflecting his commitment to pedagogy.

His career integrates academic research with practical expertise, emphasizing high-impact teaching and contributions to the accounting field through publications and professional service.
