Michael Kern is a Researcher at the University of Bonn's Faculty of Law, specializing in Civil Law, Data Economy, and Digitalization. He completed his studies in Law at the University of Bonn and University of Salamanca, Spain, focusing on Business and Competition Law with a specialization in commercial and media law. Prior to his academic career, he gained experience as a reporter and anchor at Bonn/Rhein-Sieg local radio and interned at the Federal Government's Press and Information Office.
From 2023 to 2025, he served as a research assistant at the Chair of Civil Law, Law of the Data Economy, Data Protection, Digitalization, and Artificial Intelligence. During this period, he contributed to the third-party funded project "PRIME - Privacy in the Metaverse," exploring privacy challenges in emerging digital ecosystems. His work bridges traditional legal frameworks with modern technological advancements, emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches to legal challenges posed by digital transformation.
