Dr. Michael John Murphy is a Consultation Liaison (CL) psychiatrist and clinician researcher affiliated with the School of Psychiatry at the University of New South Wales (UNSW). He works clinically at Prince of Wales Hospital and Bloomfield Hospital/Orange Health Service, focusing on comorbid mental health issues in medical/surgical patients. His research emphasizes health anxiety, the interplay of mental and physical health, and internet-delivered cognitive behavioral therapy (iCBT) for cancer patients. He has held roles such as clinical lead in the SHAPE trial and an honorary appointment at the Clinical Research Unit for Anxiety and Depression (CRUfAD).
