Dr. Michael J. Rossi is Professor and Associate Dean for Faculty and Curriculum at the University of New Haven's College of Arts and Sciences. He founded the M.S. Cellular and Molecular Biology program and teaches advanced courses in cell culture, protein biochemistry, and cellular biology.
His research spans muscle development, fertility, and cancer mechanisms, with particular focus on cellular responses in reproductive biology. Rossi mentors graduate students through the Rossi Lab, directing projects on gene expression and cellular pathways.
As principal investigator for a $1.5 million Mellon Foundation grant, he co-leads a prison education initiative with Yale University. Rossi emphasizes problem-solving and technical skill development in both classroom and laboratory instruction.
