Michael Hamilton is a Visiting Associate Professor at the University of East Anglia's School of Law, with extensive prior roles including Associate Professor of Public Protest Law (UEA, 2012–2022), Acting Chair of the Human Rights Program at the Central European University (2011–2012), and Co-Director of the Transitional Justice Institute at the University of Ulster (2008–2009). He serves as a Legal Advisor on protest rights for Amnesty International and is a member of the OSCE-ODIHR Panel of Experts on Freedom of Assembly.
