Dr. Michael Gordon is the Arthur F. Thurnau Professor of Social Entrepreneurial Studies and a Professor of Business Administration at the University of Michigan. His work focuses on leveraging enterprise to address societal challenges such as poverty, healthcare, education, and environmental sustainability. He co-authored the Base of the Pyramid Protocol, guiding companies in co-creating businesses with marginalized communities globally, with fieldwork in Kenya, South Africa, and Flint, Michigan.
His recent book, Design Your Life, Change the World: The Path of a Social Entrepreneur, explores how individuals and organizations drive societal change. Current research examines evolutionary innovation processes and their societal impacts. Dr. Gordon has received numerous teaching awards and is recognized as an award-winning innovator and author.
