Michael F. Wade is a full-time accounting faculty member at the University of Louisville's College of Business. He maintains an active CPA practice while teaching, bringing real-world experience to his classroom instruction.
Wade's teaching interests focus on Auditing, Managerial Accounting, and Accounting Information Systems. He has increasingly incorporated soft skills development into his curriculum, with time management being his emphasized cornerstone skill for student success in professional accounting careers.
As faculty advisor for the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA), Wade oversees their Leadership Development Program which focuses on identity branding, project management, and other essential business skills. The program serves all College of Business students while particularly supporting minority business students through exposure to veteran accounting professionals.
Wade draws upon his extensive professional background as a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army (including a critical assignment at the Pentagon following 9/11) and management positions in finance and accounting at UPS. He embodies NABA's motto of 'Lift as we climb' and is passionate about raising students to the next level through technical competence and tactical proficiency.
In his personal life, Wade is an avid golfer, tennis player, and collegiate/USTA tennis official who believes in community involvement as a natural part of professional development.
