Michael Evans

Michael Evans is a Lecturer in the Department of Politics, Policy and International Relations at Salem State University. He teaches courses such as POL 310 The United States Congress.

• Education: B.A. from Salem State University (1976, summa cum laude), J.D. from Harvard Law School (1979, magna cum laude).

His research interests include parliamentary procedure, constitutional law, tax policy, trade policy, social welfare policy, and health policy. He has contributed to publications like "Shakespeare's Guide to Tax Policy" and focuses on legislative processes and policy analysis.

• Scientific Awards: Silver Key Award for academic excellence, Pro Merito Award as the outstanding Political Science student.

As Chief Counsel and Deputy Staff Director for the U.S. Senate Finance Committee, he advises Democratic Senators on legal, procedural, and policy matters while overseeing staff operations.
