Michael Chance

Michael Chance is an International Visiting Professor at the Royal Northern College of Music, where he specializes in Vocal Studies and Opera. Renowned as a leading male alto in classical repertoire, he has performed globally at venues like Carnegie Hall, Concertgebouw, and London's Wigmore Hall.

His research interests include vocal performance, oratorio, and historical music practices, particularly focusing on Elizabethan lute songs and contemporary compositions. He has commissioned world premieres from composers such as Bennett, Goehr, and Tavener.
