Michael C. Haggerty is an Adjunct Instructor in the Department of Criminal Justice at Delaware Valley University since August 2015. He holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts in Criminal Justice from City University of New York, John Jay College of Criminal Justice.

His professional experience includes federal law enforcement roles at the Metropolitan Correctional Center New York, Immigration and Naturalization Service (now Bureau of Customs and Border Protection), and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) in Philadelphia. At ATF, he served on the Arson and Explosives Task Force and retired as Senior Operations Officer.
At DelVal, Mr. Haggerty teaches courses such as The Court Process, Introduction to Corrections, International Crime and Terrorism, and Criminal Justice Research Methods. He also developed and teaches the Introduction to Federal Law Enforcement class since 2018. His research interests align with practical aspects of criminal justice, corrections, terrorism, federal investigations, and arson/explosives.

He is affiliated with the Association of Former Intelligence Officers, Federal Law Enforcement Officers’ Association, and serves on the Board of Directors of the Emerald Society of Federal Law Enforcement Agencies.
