James Tanda

James Tanda is a part-time Instructor of Criminal Justice at Waynesburg University, teaching undergraduate courses in Terrorism, Homeland Security, Criminal Investigations, and specialized courses in the Master of Arts in Criminal Investigation program. With 27 years of federal law enforcement experience (including 24 years as an ATF Special Agent), he brings extensive field expertise to his academic role. He served as Resident Agent in Charge for ATF offices in Pittsburgh and Erie, supervising investigations ranging from bombings to organized crime.

Education:

• B.A. in Pre-Law and Criminology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania
• M.A. in Criminal Investigation from Waynesburg University

Research Interests: His focus spans criminal investigations, counter-terrorism tactics, forensic techniques in explosives analysis, and advanced interrogation methodologies. His work integrates practical law enforcement experience with academic instruction.
