Michael Beck

Michael Beck is a Lecturer in the Department of Communication Studies at Texas A&M University, focusing on teaching students self-advocacy, motivation, and career fulfillment. He holds a PhD in Communication Studies from Southern Illinois University – Carbondale (2021) and an M.S. from the University of North Texas (2014).

His research explores intersections of Performance Studies and Video Game Studies, emphasizing live, embodied performances. He also studies Media Studies, Rhetorical Theory/Criticism, and Communication Ethics. Dr. Beck actively engages with video games both academically and recreationally, fostering dialogue with students and colleagues.

He teaches courses such as Public Speaking, Communication Technology Skills, Persuasion, Communication Intervention, and Video Games and Communication. His work bridges theoretical frameworks with practical applications in media and communication ethics.
