John Beck

John Beck serves as Dean of the School of Business and Communication and Associate Professor of Business and Communication at The Master's University. He also holds the position of Chairperson for the Marketing Media program. With over 15 years of teaching experience at TMU, Beck brings substantial industry expertise to his academic role.

Beck earned his B.S. in Communication from Ohio University with Summa Cum Laude honors, followed by an M.A. in Communication Management from USC's Annenberg School, and an Ed.D. in Education Organizational Change and Leadership from USC Rossier School of Education.

His research interests span business, communication, entrepreneurship, marketing, and organizational leadership, with particular emphasis on Christian business ethics as evidenced by his work on missional entrepreneurship. Before his academic career, Beck accumulated two decades of executive experience in the software industry, serving as CEO and General Manager of a game development studio that grew to over 150 employees.

As Dean, Beck has overseen the introduction of new programs including Agribusiness, Missional Entrepreneurship, and Marketing Media. He has been featured in the university's Art of Discernment podcast discussing how Christians can fulfill the Great Commission through business entrepreneurship.
