Michał Ostrowicki (academic pseudonym Sidey Myoo) is a Professor at the Aesthetics Workshop, Institute of Philosophy, Jagiellonian University and the Department of Media Art Theory, Faculty of Intermedia, Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków. He is a leading scholar in aesthetics, virtual reality, and new media art, with a focus on the philosophical implications of digital and immersive technologies.
- Co-founder of Academia Electronica (2007), a virtual academic platform in Second Life, AltspaceVR, and Spatial.
- Co-editor of Medialica: Multimedia Studies in the Humanities (since 2017).
- Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Pedagogical Sciences, Polish Academy of Sciences (2023–26).
His research spans ontoelectronics (a nonlinear ontology of virtual reality), genetic criteria for art, and VR-based pedagogy. He has presented at national and international conferences and collaborated with the Jagiellonian University’s Center for Technology Transfer (2011–12).
