Professor Mia Rönnmar holds academic positions at Lund University’s Faculty of Law, including Professor and Associate Professor (currently on leave from 1 August 2024 to 31 July 2030 while serving as Vice-Chancellor of Malmö University). Her primary research focuses on Swedish, comparative, and EU labour law, industrial relations, and employment protection. She employs legal-dogmatic, comparative, and social science methodologies in her interdisciplinary work.
Her research interests include labour law dynamics, EU legal frameworks, and the impact of judicial decisions like Viking and Laval. She has collaborated with international researchers and organizations such as the ILO and European Commission, and chairs the ILO Committee of Experts on Conventions and Recommendations.
Key professional activities include organizing the 19th ILERA World Congress (2021), leading the Norma Research Programme, and serving as Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Comparative Labour Law and Industrial Relations. She has also held leadership roles at Lund University, including Dean of the Faculty of Law (2015–2020) and membership in university management bodies.
