Meredith Rossner is a Professor of Criminology and Deputy Director at the Research School of Social Sciences at The Australian National University (ANU). She leads the Criminology Program and is affiliated with POLIS: Centre for Social Policy Research. Her work focuses on emotions, technology, and justice practices, including restorative justice, courtroom design, and virtual courts.
Education: PhD in Sociology and Criminology from the University of Pennsylvania (2008).
Research Interests: Restorative justice, emotions in criminal justice, virtual courts, jury deliberation, and the impact of architecture and technology on justice systems. Her recent work explores transformative justice and digital courtroom dynamics.
Grants/Projects: Includes evaluations of restorative justice programs for sexual violence, drug courts, and Indigenous bail support initiatives. Current projects focus on survivor-centred approaches and lay participation in justice systems.
