Meredith D. Clark is an Associate Professor in the School of Journalism and the Department of Communication Studies at Northeastern University. She also directs the Center for Communication, Media Innovation and Social Change. Her research focuses on the intersections of race, media, and power, with a particular emphasis on digital counter-narratives and Black Twitter's role in shaping public discourse. She is the author of the forthcoming book We Tried to Tell Y’all: Black Twitter and the Rise of Digital Counter-Narratives (Oxford UP, 2024).
Clark serves on the four-year board leadership of the Association for Education in Journalism & Mass Communication (AEJMC) and advises the NYU Center for Critical Race + Digital Studies. Her work bridges scholarship and practice, emphasizing self-preservation as political warfare and Robin D.G. Kelley’s concept of radical imagination.
