Meredith D. Clark is an Associate Professor in the School of Journalism and Department of Communication Studies at Northeastern University, and director of the Center for Communication, Media Innovation and Social Change. Her research focuses on race, media, and power, with a particular emphasis on Black Twitter’s role in shaping digital counter-narratives. She is the author of the forthcoming book We Tried to Tell Y’all: Black Twitter and the Rise of Digital Counter-Narratives (Oxford University Press, 2024).
Clark serves on the board of the Association for Education in Journalism & Mass Communication (AEJMC) and advises the NYU Center for Critical Race + Digital Studies. She practices 'radical imagination' and advocates for self-preservation as political resistance, blending academic rigor with community engagement.
Her work bridges critical race theory and digital media studies, analyzing how marginalized communities leverage online spaces for social justice. Notable publications include articles in Communication and the Public, Journal of Social Media in Society, and New Media & Society.
