Meng (Peter) Zhang is an Associate Professor and Steve Hsu Keystone Research Scholar at Kansas State University's Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering. He holds a Ph.D. (2014) and M.S. (2009) in Industrial and Mechanical Engineering, respectively. His career includes postdoctoral research at K-State, a visiting assistant professorship (2015–2016), and roles at Dalian University of Technology (2016–2023) before joining K-State as faculty in 2023.

His group pioneered methods to isolate particle size and crystallinity effects in biomass studies.
