Melodi Rodrigue

Melodi Rodrigue is an Associate Teaching Professor in the Department of Physics at University of Nevada, Reno. With expertise in astrophysics and science education, she bridges research in galaxy interactions with innovative STEM pedagogy.

Education: Ph.D. in Physics (1998), M.S. Physics (1994), B.S. Physics (1987) from University of Nevada, Reno. Professional experience includes lecturer positions at UNR and Truckee Meadows Community College since 1994.

Research encompasses science education technology, space mission research facilities, interacting galaxies, and exoplanet detection. Current projects focus on K-12 science education enhancement through telescope facilities and curriculum development.

Publications demonstrate interdisciplinary focus spanning astronomy education, galaxy spectroscopy, and biosensing technology. Recent pedagogical work develops laboratory assessment methods while astronomical research examines galaxy interactions using multi-wavelength data.
