Melissa Manseau

Melissa Manseau is a Senior Lecturer in the Theatre and Dance Department at the University of New Hampshire, Durham. She holds a B.A. in Music Education from UNH and an M.M. in Vocal Performance with an emphasis in Opera from the University of Northern Iowa. Her expertise spans vocal technique, musical theatre, and opera performance, with a focus on healthy singing methods across genres. She currently teaches 40 students weekly, emphasizing fundamentals of voice function and versatility in styles like Rock/Pop, Jazz, and Classical.

Ms. Manseau has performed with notable organizations such as Opera North, Boston Vocal Artists, and Sarasota Opera, taking on iconic roles like Suor Angelica and Leonore. Her teaching philosophy prioritizes building stamina, expanding vocal range, and exploring repertoire from traditional to modern musical theatre. Over 20 years, she has mentored young voices through programs like Broadway Kids, UNH S.T.A.R.S. camps, and Musical Arts in Exeter/Dover.

Her artistic activities include directing musicals like Seussical and participating in productions such as Faust 2 recordings and Guys and Dolls.
