Melissa Davey Castillo is a PhD student and Lecturer in the School of Information Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Her research focuses on information seeking behavior, usability, and accessibility of digital libraries, particularly for visually impaired users. She has held roles as a Research Assistant since 2014 and served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and PhD Student Representative.
Education includes a B.A. in Philosophy with a Music Performance minor from Trinity International University (2009) and an M.A. in English from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire (2011). She also worked as a Graduate Assistant in the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs at UW-Eau Claire.
Her research interests emphasize collaborative information seeking, usability of digital libraries, and accessibility for blind users. Recent work explores design guidelines and help features for inclusive digital library systems.
