Melissa Coffey

Melissa Coffey is an Assistant Professor in the Counseling and Psychology department at Rivier University. She holds degrees from Syracuse University, Liberty University, and Rivier University, including a Psy.D. in School and Clinical Psychology.

Her research and practice focus on trauma-informed interventions, family systems, psychoeducational assessment, and supporting LGBTQIA+ youth. She integrates positive psychology into complex systems to enhance well-being and specializes in building needs-based group counseling frameworks.

Melissa has over a decade of experience as a school counselor and school psychologist in public school systems, alongside clinical private practice. She teaches courses in human interaction, counseling theories, techniques, multicultural perspectives, and group counseling.
