Meike Jungnickel is a Researcher at the Institute of Landscape Development, Recreation and Conservation Planning within the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU). She holds an M.Sc. in Sustainability Management (2019-2022) and a B.Sc. in International Business (2014-2018).

- Regional resilience in the Ötscher region (2023-2025, funded by FFG)
- Upsurge City (2021-2026, funded by EC)
- Traditional Crafts Route (2025-2027, funded by EC)
Her research focuses on climate change adaptation, nature-based solutions, and sustainable regional development, with particular emphasis on alpine tourism, urban resilience, and equitable planning. Recent work includes analyzing trade-offs in nature-based solutions using discrete choice experiments and evaluating ski resort closures as degrowth strategies.
She has advised the following theses:
