Her research explores how technology mediates human experience at individual and systemic levels. At the individual level, she examines persuasive design and human behavior. At the systems level, she uses agent-based modeling to study complex adaptive systems. She previously served as Associate Professor and Department Chair of Creative Product Design at Asia University (Taiwan), winning the 2016 Excellent Teaching Award. As founder and design director of Wolkeland Design (2010–2019), she collaborated with craftspeople to merge traditional materials with modern fabrication techniques, producing award-winning mass-produced designs.
- Awards:
- Over a dozen international design awards including iF, Red Dot, G-Mark, and Franz
- Fulbright Graduate Study Grant
Her interdisciplinary work spans biomedical device innovation (e.g., EEG helmets, smart contact lenses) and sustainable design practices. She advocates for design’s role in mediating between human experience and technological systems.
