Dr Mehrdad Khamooshi is a Research Fellow in the School of Mech., Medical & Process Engineering at Queensland University of Technology (QUT). His research focuses on computational fluid dynamics (CFD) applied to biomedical engineering, particularly in medical device design and cardiovascular systems. He investigates thrombosis risk in ventricular assist devices, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) cannula design, and nasal irrigation systems. His work combines advanced simulation techniques with clinical data to optimize medical devices and patient outcomes.
