Associate Professor Meghan Stacey is an ARC DECRA Fellow in the UNSW School of Education, part of the Arts, Design & Architecture faculty. Her work focuses on education policy, teachers' labor conditions, and the impact of marketization on schools. Previously an English/Drama teacher in NSW public schools, she holds a PhD from the University of Sydney (2018).
Her research addresses teacher workload intensification, policy reform impacts, and equity in education systems. Notable contributions include analyses of fixed-term contracts, union strategies, and the sociological dimensions of school choice. Key publications explore topics like teacher time poverty, curriculum outsourcing, and the ethical challenges faced by educators in religiously affiliated schools.
