Meghan Murphy

Dr. Meghan Murphy is an Associate Professor of Sociology at Bridgewater State University and a Faculty Associate at the university's Sexual Violence Advocacy and Support Center. She holds a BA from Bridgewater State University, an MA from the University of Massachusetts at Boston, and a PhD from the State University of New York at Buffalo.

Her research focuses on sociology of education, gender/sexuality studies, and social theory, with specific expertise in educational equity for LGBTQ+ students and first-generation college experiences. Current investigations examine how institutional cultures influence support systems for marginalized student populations.
