Meghan Morris is an Associate Professor at Temple University’s Beasley School of Law. She specializes in property law, conflict studies, and legal anthropology. Her research examines property’s role in conflict, peacemaking, and post-conflict societies, with a focus on Colombia and the U.S. She holds a J.D. from Harvard Law School, a Ph.D. in Anthropology from the University of Chicago, and an M.A. in Law and Diplomacy from Tufts University. Prior to Temple, she taught at the University of Cincinnati and served as a postdoctoral fellow at the American Bar Foundation and a senior researcher at Dejusticia in Colombia.
Her research interests include property law’s intersection with social life, environmental conflict, and human rights advocacy. Notable projects include Making Peace with Property: Specters of Post-Conflict Colombia and This Land is My Land: Property, Endangerment, and the American Dream. Her work has been supported by the National Science Foundation, Social Science Research Council, and Wenner-Gren Foundation.
