Dr. Megan Rancier is a Teaching Professor of Ethnomusicology at Bowling Green State University's College of Musical Arts since 2011. She holds a Ph.D. in Ethnomusicology from UCLA (2009). Her research focuses on Kazakhstan's musical traditions, exploring intersections between instruments, music genres, and national identity. She has conducted extensive fieldwork in Almaty and Nur-Sultan supported by Fulbright and other grants.
