Meg Hausman

Meg Hausman is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Southern Maine's College of Science Technology and Health. She holds a PhD in Organic Chemistry from the University of Maine, an MS in Polymer Science from the University of Connecticut, and an AB in Chemistry from Bowdoin College. Her research spans organic synthesis, green chemistry applications, and chemical education methodologies.

Research interests focus on sustainable chemistry solutions and pedagogical innovation:

• Development of recyclable catalysts for biodiesel production
• Analytical characterization of environmental contaminants
• STEM education outreach programs
• Mass spectrometry applications in biochemistry

Her publications demonstrate consistent focus on sustainable chemistry and analytical method development, with recent work expanding into chemical education research. She has mentored multiple students in projects ranging from beer flavor chemistry to soil biogeochemistry.
