Dr. Mechthild Beilmann-Schöner is an academic affiliated with the Center for Dutch Studies (ZNS) at the University of Münster. She currently teaches Art History seminars in the Bachelor's program and focuses her research on monastic culture of the Crusaders and comparative German-Dutch art. Her career includes roles as director of museums in Rheine, where she curated significant exhibitions like the 800th anniversary of the Knights Hospitaller Order in 2010. She holds a PhD in Art History from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München and studied at Rijksuniversiteit Leiden.
